Development of Reliability Engineering in Puerto Mejillones Company, based on the R-MES approach

Objective:
Create an adequate organizational culture to launch an initiative oriented, not only towards reducing costs and increasing sustainable production, but also towards the development of best practices in the field of Operational Reliability. Looking to deliver the tools; of support, computer and methodological, that allow the standardization of processes of continuous improvement of processes and assets.

Development of the case:
The project methodology considered 5 stages.

Strategic-Operational Integration: This point is related to the roles and responsibilities in relation to the Reliability Indicators. What people would be in charge? What would be the scope of these indicators and their metrics ?, etc.

Quality assurance of information: In this stage the sources of information, the data bases for the pilot plan, data validation process, etc. are formalized. Without forgetting the instances of coordination to fulfill this purpose.

Logical-Functional Modeling: It consists of the definition of the pilot plan, information gathering to model, interview with specialists, logical-functional configurations, diagramming using the R-MES tool and its respective validation.

Database structuring and management report issuance: Consider the graphic design of the monthly report, periods of report analysis, data validation, detention data consolidation, criticality report.

Structuring monthly meeting and follow-up: It indicates the participants of the meeting, the number of these and the monitoring of opportunities for improvement.

 

As an annex point is the personalization of R-MES, due to particular requirements of Puerto Mejillones on the KPIs.
